Blogs of War

Vince Leibowitz wrote this guide a while ago but I’ve been AWOL and just noticed. He picked up on an interesting fact about Blogs of War:

Blogs of War is probably the Texas Blogsphere’s most well known conservative site, though its focus is so national many probably don’t realize the site is Houston-based. The site is by John Little, and subjects of posts range from politics to defense and technology issues. It’s not only had mentions in the national media, but is part of the Library of Congress’ MINERVA project’s permanent collection on the war in Iraq.

About a year after launching Blogs of War, and leading up to the invasion of Iraq, I was getting so many threats that I really went out of my way keep my personal details under wraps. Believe it or not it was the animal rights crowd that had me the most worried. They sent me some fairly disturbing email. Trust me when I tell you that Islamofacists are a laugh riot compared to animal rights activists. Anyway, folks calmed down quite a bit, I finally wrote my “About” page three years after launching the site, and it’s been over a year since I’ve had a kooky (we’re talking forward to the FBI kooky – benign kookiness arrives almost hourly) email.
