Blogs of War

I doubt this is true. If it is, and it occurs, expect the scope of this war to widen significantly:

Arab press sources close to the Hizbullah say that residents of Tel Aviv will be given one hour to flee before the terrorist group launches a barrage of missiles at the city.

The unnamed sources are quoted by the Palestinian Authority-based news agency Ma’an as saying:

“The Lebanese resistance is preparing a retaliation parallel to Israel’s military actions. Hassan Nasrallah will address the people of Tel Aviv and warn them to evacuate the city within one hour. As soon as the delay ends, hundreds of heavy missiles will start landing in the city, which has been divided into squares in order to let damage reach every inch of the city. An estimated 500 missiles are expected to land in Tel Aviv in a short period of time.”

Jerusalem Newswire quotes Israeli Ambassador to the UN Dan Gillerman’s position on a Tel Aviv strike:

“If missiles hit Tel Aviv, it will not be an escalation, it will be doomsday. …We would consider it something [Hizb'allah] and their sponsors, mainly in Iran and Syria, would pay very, very dearly for.”

If you want a world war, maybe even a limited nuclear war (with Israel leading the way) the near destruction of Tel Aviv would certainly get you started.

Anyway, I doubt that Hezbollah is capable of an attack on this scale. They would need more than missiles. They’d also need sophisticated planning, communication, resources, and the time to get everything in place while hostile Israeli warplanes patrol overhead. A few missiles here and there (that’s a few missiles are possible in Tel Aviv – Katyushas will rain down in large numbers elsewhere), some warnings, and a lot of fear and chaos are much more likely. We’ll know, either way, soon.

    I agree that Nasrallah has the weaponry to carry out such an attack. However, keep in mind that Hezbollah is not calling the shots, Iran is. Is it possible that the Mad Mullahs are supplying Hezbollah through Syria as we speak?

    For what it’s worth, I also believe that should Tel-Aviv be attacked, it will open up the door for Israel to go after Tehran, which in turn will bring in the US. Maybe that’s what Iran wants.

    Israel has the authority, natural right to kill anyone, no matter if its a few months old baby at a beach. killing a baby is no crime. any one opposing israel’s view is a terrorist and should be abolished! israel is doing this killing of citizens through out its history. so this new primeminister is no different from the rest. All israelis are obssessed with the fear that the whole world is against them and to quench this fear they resort to killings. all of us are here to see where and when this killing will stop. for how long israel will continue to use the brutal force. thumbs ups for israel’s brave soldiers for demolishing terrosrist homes, bombing beaches…….the whole world is a witnesses to your bravery! Israel will always come out on top of any conflict with the arabs or anyone for that matter. Even if things begin to look bleak for them GOD will protect them in the end because that is his promise to the people of Israel.

    When did Israel hire the PR unit from gaza? Ol’ Christiano seems to be chanting the hamas mantra. I will take her gibing rhetoric concerning Israel and turn it into support for Israel and I’ll remind her that it was none other than Nasrallah who declared ‘Total War!’ It seems to be what the idiot is getting. As an aside he reminded me of Saruman in ‘the Two Towers.’

    If anybody is interested in watching Tel Aviv I found a cool live streaming web cam of part of the city here:
    http://www.ayalonhw.co.il/camera/camera.asp?perCamera=5

    Anybody know if there is a web cam for other parts of Israel?

  10. christiano Says:

    I must say that israel have courtesy to warn citizens two hours before attacking to flee their homes or they will be crushed under the debris of their own homes. and this stands true whether they are attcking Gaza or they are on rampage in Lebanon;
    So if anyone is left behind and killed, israel is not to be blamed; its only collateral damage afterall; and they are paying the price for being slow……..
    What a fine display of arrogance! Israel…. more pats on ur back
